Precious & Priceless

I have been anticipating this photo "session" ever since we found out we were having twins.  I never thought it would take a month for me to actually get around to it.  I'm kicking myself for not just making it happen in those first two weeks when they are so "moldable."  Some of the shots that I had in my mind just were not going to happen.  That's alright.  I am really happy with the shots that I DID manage to get.  Alright, enough with the talking.  Let's get on to the pictures.

Pilot & Finn!

Finn Journey Reaux

5 lb.

Relaxed.  That is the best way I can describe their labor and birth.  It just all felt so natural and, dare I say it, fun!  For the almost 3 hours of laboring in the hospital room, we goofed off and laughed almost the entire time.  I will see if I can upload a clip of the video my best friend recorded while I was dancing between contractions.  I had Hanson playing on my iPhone, friends and family hanging out with me, and jokes going between me and the nurses.  Just the way it should be.  (Well... I would prefer to have been at home through it all, but felt better about being in the hospital once we saw meconium in Pilot's amniotic fluid.)  Just for fun, here is a picture I posted to Twitter 3 hours before I had the boys:

I am completely kicking myself for not getting around to do a photo shoot of Pilot & Finn before they turned 2-weeks-old (and still haven't done it!).  I have just had a lot going on, obviously.  I'm letting myself off the hook.  ;)  I'm sure I will have plenty of pictures to post here as time goes on, so hang tight.

By the way, the kids (and the girls especially) are just about as in love with them as Jeromy and I are.  I love the picture of Ella admiring them in my bed one morning.

And just because it cracks me up, here they were one morning stretching... together.  How adorable is that?

Simple, Sunny Saturday

The kids and I went to the farmers market Saturday morning for some goodies.  So excited that it is open again for the summer!  I love being handed my food straight from the person who planted it, harvested it, or baked it.  Here are just some of the things we came home with...

 

When we got home it was so nice outside that the kids immediately jumped on their bikes or grabbed a piece of chalk.  So, I brought the food in, grabbed my camera, and headed outside.  We had so much fun just playing around.  I'm trying to just spend time playing with them as much as I can keep up (I'm a lot slower these days) before the babies arrive.  I know I will be busy nursing for a while and just getting in the groove of having two newborns to tend to.  I'm feeling a little sad about that.  Wondering if I will have enough time and/or energy left over for Camden, Ella, and Maya in the day.  Let's just not think about that for the moment and share some photos instead.

Can you see the locust on the training wheel?  That nasty thing freaked all of us out.  Haha!  Ella shot off of that bike so quickly when she noticed it.  Eek!

We went inside after a while and as I was putting some things away in the kitchen I heard the kids giggling in their room.  They were all playing under the blanket in their room with flashlights and I just had to capture the moment.  I LOVE those giggly moments and I will remember them forever.

Sweet Newborn

No, not mine!  Adorable Mr. Rhett belongs to my husband's cousin and his wife.  He was only 1-week-old when I went to pay him a visit.  He was so sweet and made me so excited to meet my own new little boys.  All in good time!  There is just nothing like the new, soft skin of a tiny one.  Dodie, I had a really nice time visiting with you two at home.  He is so precious!
