Do you see our little peanut's tummy? Full full full of poop. We knew it because of the problems she's been having for the last few months, but it was confirmed by an amazed doctor last night. She had an x-ray done in the ER that showed the big problem (We were doing the x-ray because our little prankster told us that she swallowed a penny. She did not.) and we did some not so fun stuff to take care of that before leaving. She is being referred to a gastro-intestinal specialist so that we can hopefully get this all worked out.
Here are a few pictures from dinner at Chili's with family the other night. [Insert Photo of Mommy here... if someone had only thought to take a picture of her]
Today we are headed to New Orleans to take the kids to the Audubon Zoo and the Aquarium of the Americas. Truthfully, I am probably more excited than the kids are! FUN!! So I will be back on Wednesday and will having an etsy shop update before the week is up. I'm working on more fun things!
I added a few things to my etsy shop this morning. It's so fun to be doing it again! I'm going to add some different things today hopefully and over the next few days.
Photo talk! For the next two weeks I am going to give a Back to School special. I am giving $50 off of any package of your choice! That means you can get my Grass Roots session for only $100. I won't be doing this again for a while, so book before August 1st!! (Your session does not have to be before August, only your booking.) You can email me, visit my website, or call me at 337-212-1795.
ETA: This is not only for children/family sessions. Any sessions get the special!
Now, most importantly... my grandmother needs all of the prayers and good thoughts you can send her way. My sweet Maw-maw just found out that she has cancer. We aren't sure how severe and where it all is yet, but we do know it's around her lungs. My heart hurts so much to know that she has to go through this. She has done so much for so many people throughout her life. She has the sweetest spirit of anyone I know. That photo of me and her was taken a couple of months ago, and I want to be sure to take many more. Her name is Dorothy. My mom's mother's name was Dorothy also. She passed away in December and I miss her terribly. Thank you, in advance, for all of your support.
I bought these beautiful veggies on the farm where they were grown only 5 miles from my house - Gotreaux Family Farms. Once a week I try to get myself and the kids over to the farm when they have their produce for sale. I absolutely love coming home with a bag full of fresh veggies that were just harvested! What I buy at the store (which was probably grown hundreds of miles from here) pales in comparison in color and flavor. It's such a great experience for the kids to go and see where our food is grown, too. If you live in the area, check out the website and stop by the farm on Wednesdays! If you don't live here, maybe you can find and support local growers in your own area.
I'm working on some super fun things for my etsy shop! I am so glad I'm finally getting around to it. Despite how much running around and visiting we did today, there has been lots of sewing and painting going on. Loving it! I'll let ya know when I have my shop updated. Stick around...
As you can see, the kids have taken quite well to her. We are all in love with our new-to-us piano. I found this beauty at a moving sale. The sweetest couple I have ever met are retiring and moving to another state to be with their kids and grandkids. They purchased this piano brand new in 1973 and have obviously taken great care of it. I plan to take care of it just the same. We have put strict rules into place about washing hands before touching it! So far, so good. I consider that a miracle of God, with a one-, a three-, and a four-year-old so excited to play it!
I took all of these photos just minutes after it was brought into the house. I love the thought of looking back at these twenty years from now. Recalling all of the memories we have of practicing, goofing off, singing Christmas carols around it, late-night writing sessions, learning, and growing.
Dear sweet piano, Welcome to your new home. You are already a part of the family.
